As
we know that every area of every object photography always has a
certain characteristic , then photography techniques for these objects
also have a characteristic in order to obtain maximum results ,
including photographic techniques at the beach .
Beach conditionsLocation
is generally yes there are sand beaches , sea water , usually it is the
object of a point of interest in beach photography . There is a sky , no clouds , boats and little trees that usually are coconut trees . But
the number of objects that a little creativity it was a lot there that
we can DAPT , the combination becomes infinite because if we enter the
time element . Hunting
the morning , afternoon or evening time would be different , too slow
or fast shutter speed will produce certain unique results .
Composition On the Beach
The beach is the most convenient location to learn composition , why ? Because there is a sea horizon . Already know the rules Rule of Third ? The sea horizon can be used as a marker or a line above the bottom line of the limits of Rule of Third . Suppose we take the composition of the third beach , 1/3 sea and 1/3 sky . If
there is another object eg a boat , we can arrange for a boat that is
1/3 frames and towards two thirds of the frame so that the photo as if
it could tell " the journey is still far away " .
In
addition to a broad view of the beach in all directions , there are no
objects that make Distract or disturb the composition of which we will
take .
grab the opportunity when at the beach to stabilize the composition techniques . Another
idea is to ignore the rules of Rule of Third and break all the
compositions and creative concepts beyond the rules to train the
instinct in the composition .
Golden lighting
There is a term " Be early or be late" . Come early in the morning , or afternoon wrote all night long as not . Due to the open sea conditions are also abundant sunlight . So if you too would be very difficult to arrange during the lighting . Most beautiful is when the golden hour , from start up before the sun rises too
late ( sometime before 08.00 am ) and also during the afternoon which is
about 16.00 up before the sun entirely submerged .
At
those times , the light is softer and dramatic sun , the sky is still
blue shades of yellow and red is tempting object for landscape
photographers . It
should be noted in this condition is still very low light so did the
exposure and metering settings appropriately so as not to underexpose (
photos tend to be dark ) . No need to be afraid to do trial and error , if it is too dark increase eg from f/11 aperture to f / 8 . Or it could also raise the ISO , but do not be too high because it can make the picture a lot of noise . For shutter speed there are no standards , depending on the purpose of the photo. We explain at the Moment .
The most difficult part of learning photography is setting the exposure manually start of shutter speed , aperture and ISO . Once again do not be afraid to try , trial and error as much as possible without fear of running out of film . To use the most secure metering evaluative , but wanted to take a silhouette photo then have to use spot metering .
Moment
I would not say this as a decisive moment as it is not street photography . Moment in question here is an event that we will take that could make a photograph tell without too many words . I take two examples of completely different moments of the same object . Waves .
Waves that vibrate . The waves we catch in the photo to show the strength or ferocity . The waves should be visible detail , muscles , sweat grains seemed to threaten beaches and coral reefs . We can take this moment to wave high shutter speeds and freeze so that the waves become visible detail . Terms shutter speed is high enough or light enough high ISO .
Cotton waves . This is my personal term , I did not remember the term generally . The point to make waves into soft , soft as cotton strands . The way time should be early , while still a little light . Mandatory
tool is a tripod , because the process was taking photos of waves with a
long shutter speed , so it will have no effect on the waves to be as
white as cotton blur , while other objects eg sky , sand and sharp rocks
.
Another
moment that you can think of is the boat and the sun , seagulls and
waves , fisherman throws a fishing rod , erased traces of sand waves and
so forth .
FilterI personally rarely use filters frankly . But the point here filters serve as a tool only. Not a determinant of photos would be better , remain the main factor is we . ND filters are used ( Neutral Density ) which serves to
reduce the most light , suitable for use in the daytime . Then there is a useful addition to a UV filter for lens protection but also filter out ultraviolet light in a certain range . This can reduce atmospheric haze that often appear in the sea , although the effect is not so obvious ..
The latter is a Polarizing filter ( CPL ) , serves to filter out some of the light is polarized . Essentially reduce reflection and increase contrast , the main effect is usually sky became blue , dark blue tend to .
